at a glance

copacabana beach is now sharing some of its fame with her sister ipanema beach, but it remains the most historical and culturally significant beach in rio de janeiro.

the historical connection between portugal and brazil is long standing and still very much alive - in fact, since the discovery of brazil by the europeans to the modern days the south american country never forgot its roots and constant trade of ideas and concepts was maintained between both sides of the atlantic, something very visible in copacabana.

in light of this connection, and as a lively statement of fashion and modernity, several architectural landmarks in rio de janeiro were made in a style very much reminiscent of the classic european approach.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
