Presented by the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, the study Uma casa de Lúcio Costa em Laranjeiras: Aspectos Ambientais observados na década de 30 e nos dias atuais  (A House by Lúcio Costa in Laranjeiras: Aspects of Urban Design Observed in the Thirties and Today), by Ingrid. L. Fonseca, Eliane Barbosa, Camila Curi e Maria Maia Porto divulges the partial results of the research 'Environmental comfort studies - architecture, light and color - in Lúcio Costa´s modern houses', which is under development. Its objective is to identify the general plan and the spatial and constructive features of the Souza de Carvalho residence, in Laranjeiras.

Theoretically, these factors influence the environmental comfort of the house - the authors observed significant changes during the process of construction, and in its urban and climatic contexts. The methodological sequence includes references to Lúcio Costa's ideas and work, to the climate and to the Laranjeiras neighborhood, in addition to an examination of the house itself, which was lived in by the research group, and analyzed in its historical context.
