Presented by the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, the study A obra de Roberto Burle Marx para a cidade do Rio de Janeiro - um patrimônio cultural carioca (Roberto Burle Marx's work for the city of Rio de Janeiro - carioca cultural heritage), by Jeanice de Freitas Magina e Fernando Fernandes de Mello constitutes part of research developed for the study of the protection of the landscape work of Roberto Burle Marx (1909-1994) in the city of Rio de Janeiro, as part of the centenary commemorations of his birth.

The research covered, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, more than 200 landscape works, including gardens, panels, walls, and other landscape-shaping features - Amongst these, we highlight some projects realized by public institutions, which covered a period of around 50 years of production, starting with a project for a geo-botanical space in the Jardim Zoológico (Zoological Garden) in 1946 and ending with a central section of Rua General Glicério in 1993, one year prior to its demise. arrow-back      arrow-forward
