Through an understanding of these works, which include those pojects which were never finally executed, we will be able to historically record the contact that existed between Burle Marx and the city's administration, which at various intervals relied upon the genius of the artist - This study aims to analyze the role Burle Marx's landscapes played on the construction of the modern city, to study the transformation of the city through them, and finally, to establish the necessity of protecting them as monuments of Rio's cultural heritage.
