at a glance

on a clear sunny day one can take in gorgeous postcard views of the beaches of leblon and ipanema, the rock of arpoador, the cagarras islands, the statue of christ the redeemer, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, and of the jardim botânico.  

the hike to the peak takes about one hour and a half, and reaches 540 meters above sea level.

despite the great views that can be enjoyed from this park, relatively few visitors know about it, and even fewer take the time to explore it.

managed by the municipal department for the environment, the park contains portions of the atlantic forest and it is a valued gem within city's boundaries.
