one of babilônia's recent developments is the government sponsored installation of free wi-fi internet network accessible anywhere in the community. among the residents' offers, now visitors can find organized naturewalks, arts and crafts fairs, and lunches based on typical foods. during the new years' celebrations of 2010, many tourists watched the fireworks from the top of the favela. the local organization coopbabilônia is currently working towards the reforestation of the area. they also offer eco-tourism hikes and can be contacted here - the group posts some photographs here and here. |
