at a glance

the promenade has a small stone wall that seems to be made just to sit with a drink to enjoy the view of the boats and the fishermen. 

right across from the beach, the restaurant garota da urca is the ideal setting to enjoy a picanha de carne (grilled meat), while looking at the reflections in the water and the christ the redeemer statue.

not far from the beach is the landmark bar da urca, nicknamed 'burca,' and a favorite meeting point of many youths and intellectuals.

a taxi ride from copacabana or ipanema will cost about 30 reals each way, and there is a taxi stand right by the beach for the way back.
