raaj mahal is one of the oldest indian restaurants throughout all of brazil, and was opened in rio in 1983.

the menu provides over 50 dishes to choose from, catering to all tastes ranging from milder curry selections to those that are much spicier. some popular favorites  are the chicken tikka massala, and meat biriani, as well as a host of other traditional and well-known indian dishes, including appetizers.

the restaurant is located in botafogo, and on wednesday nights, diners can enjoy live music and performances with indian dancing and belly dancing taking place at 21:00 into the night. it is strongly advised to make reservations, as the restaurant can become very busy.
