rio's historical development and cuisine represent a combination of many different cultures and influences - this tour winds through the city's classic locations as well as some of its little known gems, ascending the rich community of morro da conceição (conception mountain) and praça xv de novembro (fifteenth of november square), in order to chart the fascinating historical development of the city and its inhabitants.

along the way marcia zoladz provides a number of mouth-watering recipes, procured from restaurants, botequins (traditional bars) and pastry shops - included are detailed illustrations of how to prepare fresh fish, frozen desserts, ice creams, cakes as well as the city's favorite juices and hot drinks.

she also provides useful practical information about opening hours of cultural sites, transport  routes and possible gifts - available via livraria da travessa, or via livraria galileu.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
