the christmas tree on lagoa stays on display for about one month, and for the entire period one of the most fun things to do in the area is going to see it from the base. on the copacabana/ipanema side, swan shaped pedal boats, for two, four, or six people, are available for rent per half hour or more on the banks of the lagoa. prices vary depending on size of the pedal boat, and period, but pedal boats on average cost about br$ 10 per person per half-hour. locals and tourists alike rave about using the boats to go out on the water, and view the famous christmas tree up close, with the scenic background of the zona sul neighborhoods and rio's beautiful mountain peaks, including the cristo redentor. |
