praia do pepinois always active during the daytime and weekends - visitors doubling up with local professional hang-gliders and riding up to pedra bonita, are a common site. at night praia do pepino ususally empties out as restaurants, or shops, in the area, are not open in the evenings - being a beachside residental neighborhood, são conrado does not have much activity during the evenings and it can be difficult to flag down cabs with little street traffic.

a taxi ride to praia do pepino takes approximately 30 minutes from ipanema and 40 minutes from copacabana - these are  estimated times without traffic. public transit is available from both ipanema and copacabana via direct onibuses with the numbers 552 or 553.
