this descent can be slippery due the humidity of the soil, so caution is advisable.  just before beginning to ascend again there is a crossroads, where one should stay to the left once more, following the most defined arm of trail.

this leads to a small outlook, where one may rest and admire the view before climbing the elephant's head. this part of the trail is quite steep, but once the 'forehead' (the summit) is attained visitors are treated to a truly incredible 360° view of the surrounding area that makes any effort expended in the process worthwhile.
