in cooperation with the local organization coopbabilônia, the babilônia communityhas been involved in important reforestation of the region, which up until a few years ago was completely bald.

since the beginning of the project, over 190 thousand seedling have been planted, transforming the area into a dense woodland oasis, which has attracted many visitors to the area. 

in addition to the reforestation work, the community also offers insightful guided tours up the mountain trails, to offer visitors the story of the favela and the reforestation work being done, as well as building the local economy.
