affectionately known as 'dadá maravilha', which translates as wonder dadá, dadá was one of the great characters of brazilian football, renowned not only for his goal scoring ability, but his humorous personality.

never one to let his skills speak for themselves alone, dadá gave himself a number of nicknames, and famously proclaimed, 'there are only three things in the air that float, helicopters, hummingbirds, and me.'

born dario josé dos santos, to a poor family in 1946, dadá is was not the most technically gifted players to grace the field, but he was and incredibly prolific player -  scoring 539 goals throughout his career, only bettered by pelé and romário.

continuing to use his vibrant personality, and creative words passed the time he hung up his boots, dadá went on to become a soccer commentator, in brazil.
