some of the very the best surfing waves of rio de janeiro are here at prainha, good all year round and approximately two meters in height, with excellent formation, creating great conditions for adapted surf.

all of the swells are well received here, coming primarily from the eastern and southeast corners - these waves break predominantly in the left corners of the beach, as well as the south and southeast corners in the right side.

there are ditches running along the entire beach, creating sand banks and waves breaking on both sides - this is a beach often sought out by surfers from all over brazil, as it is one of the most consistent surf spots in the city.
