located in leblon, in rio's zona sul, in the same stretch home to ipanema and arpoador  beaches, leblon beach is one of the most famous beaches in rio - the beach is nearly identical to ipanema beach, with similar waves and currents. 

about 1300 meters in length, leblon beach is between the water canal jardim the alah (allah's garden) and the beginning of avenida niemeyer, the base of the dois irmãos mountain - the waves on leblon beach are strong and inconsistent, with tube-shaped waves breaking close to the sand.
