there are nearly 300 kilometers of bicycle lanes in rio de janeiro, the first of which were built during the late 1980s - these lanes cut through some of the city's most interesting areas and include incredible views of the scenery that makes rio de janeiro so special. while cycling around the city is great for getting fit it is also brilliant for the environment and the brazilian government is fully aware of this seeing as they continue to improve facilities for fellow bikers hundreds of bike racks have been installed all over the city and the government has even launched bike rio, a shared bicycle rental program - there are also many tour companies offering organized guides of the rio de janeiro's cultural and historical heritage. | airplanes | |||
