the boarding station is located on rua lélio gama, not far from largo da carioca, where there is a subway station, and easily accessible via foot from the subway station there - there are two tram lines in santa teresa - paula matos, and dois irmăos, starting every 30 minutes from the station at rua lélio gama, and both reaching the heart of the neighborhood.

the bonde exits in the center of town, runs on top of the lapa arches, and goes up the santa teresa hill - fares have historically varied for those opting to sit down and preferred standing up throughout the ride - the best way to know the cost of the ride is to go to one of the counters at the booths of the departing stations.

this is a 1998 map by allen morrison that illustrates the location of the santa teresa tramway - this is a 2010 map by allen morrison that illustrates the location of the santa teresa tramway, the corcovado rack railway and the metrô.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
