also included were  'Rio de Janeiro, 450 years', which examined cultural stereotypes and the future of the city, and' Fiction Writers', which analyzed the works of writers such as Valentin Louis Georges Eugène Marcel Proust and laurence Sterne. 

The Academy runs a selection of seminars on important contemporary themes that in the past included topics such as  multiculturalism, and Brazilian institutions and democracy.

The cultural center also hosts  classical musical performances at intervals throughout the year, as well as talks on the history and culture of the musical genre Música Popular Brasileira - MPB, Brazilian pop Music.
