the cave gets its
name from a local resident that was fundamental in
the park's
reforestation and preservation. an easy hike takes visitors to the mouth of the cave,
starting at ponte da marquesa, close to the park's picnic area and
along the
major archer road.
the entrance to the cave is about 30 m high and forms a rocky
platform - the cave's entrance is very narrow and the rock face
to reach it is very steep, so that some climbing is involved in
reaching it.
