bonifácio has more typical tourist attractions - i. e. bars, restaurants, hotels, paddle boats, kayaks, and thus is the most visited by non-locals. praia manoel luís is on the southern tip of the island, facing rio de janeiro - it is, along with its neighbor imbuca beach, located in the area commonly regarded as the best for swimming. rounding out the southeastern edge of paquetá are praia das gaivotas and praia grossa, with the latter being located next to the yacht club and deriving its name from the thickness of the grains of sand found there.
