there are a number of beaches on the island, that can be used for swimming - although the quality of the water is inferior to the waters of the atlantic that is found in many of rio's beaches.

paquetá mains two beaches, praia da moreninha and josé bonifácio beach have kiosks and small bars, many of the tables are set up under the shades of trees, making the entire experience even more special.

not far from the beaches, there is the darke de mattos park, ideal for a brief walk immersed in green.
