crowded during week-ends, prainha de piratininga is very calm monday through friday, when only the locals and some fishermen use this beach. white sands, calm waters, and a beautiful view of the sugar loaf and of the cristo redentor make this beach a wonderful retreat, mostly unknown by foreign visitors.   

on the right side of the beach there are an additional 200 meters mostly used by local fishermen, since there is not much sand, and access can be difficult as it requires walking on several steep rocks.
