mostly during the months of april to august, natural pools of water form along this beach - the part of the beach divided by some rocks towards leblon beach, is called cantão (roughly translated as big corner) and it is a good snorkeling spot with plenty of marine life.

there are only two small kiosks to attend the needs of people on this beach, no public sporting facilities, and no public bathrooms are available directly on the beach and lifeguards usually do not patrol this area.
