praião, on the other hand, is a long, gorgeous stretch of white sand lapped at by waves that vary between gentle and sufficient for surfing or body-boarding, depending on weather conditions.

on the inland side there is an excellent boardwalk dotted with kiosks that specialize in fresh seafood, and walkers, joggers and bikers find their place here alongside the eaters and drinkers.  

that said, the environment at piratininga is favorable for nearly all sorts, and small groups of surfers, sunbathers, families and teenagers can be found carving out their 'territory' on the beach - fortunately, here there is room for everyone.
