some locals also say a dangerous criminal used to hide and live on this beach, although no name was ever given to this person. 

others say that the name is due to the violent chases and shootouts that took place here during the time of the dictatorship between government officials and their political opponents.

despite the name, however, this beach is not dangerous, and it offers about 150 meters of beautiful white sand, clean waters, and flush vegetation around most of it.
