sector 1 of the sambódromo only has the arquibancada (regular grandstand seating) and does not have camarotes (boxes) or frisas (ground level open box seating).

with a capacity of up to 6500 occupants, sector 1 has a great front-facing view for all the samba schools entering the stadium from behind the even numbered sectors.

typically, samba schools distribute tickets to this sector to components of their samba schools and/or support people, or residents of the neighborhood where the samba school is from.
