The stairs leading up to the district of Santa Teresa from the green and resplendent fátima district were decorated by the SerHurbano collective, as part of an initiative to transform the urban environment into a more colorful, magical and democratic space - here many of the stairs leading to santa teresa display some of the most beautiful graffiti of the region.

The two artists, João Jitujeusi, aka Mancha, and Rafael Bandeira painted the stairs with a remarkable figure who used to reside in the neighborhood - samba singer, dancer and film star, Carmen Miranda.

Carmen's portraits occupy the space towards the bottom of the ascent, boasting thick red lips and a colorful headdress - The rest of the steps are decorated with bright and beautiful intersecting blocks of color.
