the festival began in 2011, with a diverse program that included over sixty films from all different genres, including fiction, documentaries and animations.

it has gone from strength to strength, growing in popularity, and reaching larger audiences, with the recent fourth edition a huge success throughout the city.

the festival puts on a rich array of events, which include film screenings, events and exhibitions on demand, and workshops and debates, some of which are aimed specifically at governments, businesses, and schools - all of the screenings are free of charge.

the filmambiente team works throughout the year in conjunction with the green film network, to find the best available films and videos to present, with a clear dedication to the environmental cause, and to sustainable progression, which they believe starts with better understanding of the issues at hand.
