opened in 1951, Cine Leblon is the last remaining cinema in the rich and fashionable neighborhood of leblon - The theatre has overcome all adversity, remaining a well-loved picture house for locals for 63 years.

In 2014, following a trend of cinematic decline in the city, it announced that it would be closing down due to serious financial difficulties - On July it bid adieu to its audiences with showings of Jersey Boys and The Muppets 2, but reopened again 15 days later to the great joy of cinema enthusiasts and residents alike.

Architecturally unostentatious, with a subtle finesse, the building boasts a pink marble foyer and thick carpet in the main viewing rooms.

It belongs to the Severiano Ribeiro Group, displaying mostly blockbusters and box office hits - In the venue There are two screens, with capacities of 300 and 210 respectively, and one of these has 3D capabilities - a requisite for the new age cinema.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
