Opened in 1932, Cine Odeon was the last film establishments of its kind to be built in Cinelândia - a region of the city named after its high volume of cinemas - and it is the only one that still exists today.

Located right in the historic and architecturally rich centre of the city, Cine Odeon is one of the oldest and most beloved theatres in the city - Over the years it has received many esteemed guests, such as Tom Cruise and Roman Polanski.

The cinema has one room, with a capacity of 584 people - The building also contained a small bistrô, culinary workshop and bookstore - When in full swing Cine Odeon screens film previews and galas, as well as being used as the central space for the Festival do Rio and Anima Mundi Short Film Festival.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
