Carrying the slogan, 'Culture and Citizenship Through Cinema', Cine Santa is the only film and visual art project of its kind in santa teresa, enjoying great breadth, longevity and prestige.

Located in the bohemian and artistic hilled region of Santa Teresa, it exhibits some of the major independent and art-house films from Brazil and around the globe, as well as those that receive acclaim at international festivals.

The charming theatre first exhibited 'God is Brazilian' in 2003, and has since, through various productive relationships and projects, established itself as a cultural cornerstone for the city, used by NGOS and schools as a space for cultural, social and educational initiatives.

It has one intimate room, with space for 54 people, and also contains a small art gallery for temporary exhibitions, as well as a café.
