Visual artists, handcrafters, artisans, photographers, fashion designers and many other critics and art buffs, have a way of documenting the debates and conversations generated through the activities celebrated during this weekend.  street parties and impromptu musical events accompany the festival, and in light of the magic effect that this event has had in santa teresa, it has been replicated by other cities across brazil. every august, fotorio - the annual international photography meeting of rio de janeiro, aims at enhancing photography as a cultural movement. fotorio gives visibility to major public and private collections, as well as  collections and contemporary photographic productions both in brazil and abroad, through exhibitions, projections and urban interventions courses, seminars, workshops, roundtables, lectures and conferences.
