Each year in july Rio hosts an animation film festival called Anima Mundi, which showcases some of the most stimulating and entertaining animated motion pictures the world has to offer.

It is the biggest animation event in Latin America, aiming to educate, entertain and create a platform for the newest and most original artists in the field.

Taking place in Botafogo, this highly prestigious festival brings together films and artists from all areas of the globe.

Films compete in the categories of Short, Children's Short, Brazilian Short, Students' Short, Experimental and avant-garde films, Long (over 50 minutes), Children's' Long, and Portfolio - encompassing videos relating to advertising, institutions, games, or special effects.
