the festival not only encourages the struggle against prejudice, with original ideas, but also supports up and coming young filmmakers, and helps them to express themselves in a like-minded atmosphere. 

the festival takes place in a number of different locations throughout the city, starting off in rio de janeiro's northern zone, and moving its way throughout the city.

some of the venues that host the productions are the arena carioca jovelina pérola negra, the centro cultural da justiça federal, the museu de arte do rio - mar, and the cervantes institute, among others.
