The jardim botânico holds a raffle and the winners get to plant a tree in the gardens - The plants selected are in danger of extinction, making it even more meaningful.

at the Museu do Meio Ambiente (museum of the environment)  celebrations with music and artistic activities are held - educational and recreational attractions mix with talks and workshops.

Topics such as trimming trees correctly and the impact of certain plants on the water flow of an area, are discussed and spread in the communities who take part in these free events.
