the event is made up of three sections: competitive exhibitions, informal displays, and special issue, which incudes seminars and debates. a unique event in the city, the femina participates in the important work of disseminating positive representations of women, whilst raising awareness about gender inequality.

It is not as exclusive as it sounds - The International Women's Film Festival oriented to the projection, impulse and encouragement of female-related productions and works, is actually looking to establish, once and for all, equality, as it very clearly states it in its mission.

Beyond the support that some specific group of the community may need, this Festival tends to bridge the differences existent in the ideals and ideas of egalitarianism of coverage and participation that the genders have in the real life film industry, and beyond opening raging lashes or guilt-filled fests, it attempts to demonstrate just how important it is, for the greater good of society as a whole, that every citizen - creator, spectator or all of the above - gets the chance to speak their minds, express their feelings and welcome others into their universe's view span.
