located In barra da tijuca, Cidade das Artes is a relatively new project undertaken by the municipal government in order to create a space where art could develop freely - Equipped for theatre, movie screenings, dance presentations, colloquiums, art exhibitions and even full featured concerts, the Cidade das Artes was recreated from 2011 to 2013 by mayor Eduardo Paes and has become a referential artistic place, partially or completely hosting festivals like Anima Mundi and the Brasil Jazz Festival.
