The babilônia Hill first began to be settled in 1907, and was pacified in 2009 - It is now considered to be one of the more sophisticated and urbanized communities in the city, largely a product of the morar carioca government program which set in motion a number of developmental schemes - One must wander through the winding, well-paved and colorful streets of the community to reach an area of natural conservation towards the peak.
