A famous and popular bar and hostel called 'The Maze' is situated near the top of the community. On the first Friday of each month a fashionable Jazz event is held in the establishment which residents and visitors from all over the city are wont to flock to. 'The Maze' was the location for some of the scenes in Snoop Dogg and Pharrell's famous song, 'Beautiful', written in homage to the city of Rio.

There are also a variety of different eateries, bars and shops which bring members of the community together and create an atmosphere of joviality and warmth. the snack bar estrelas, for example, is a small restaurant located in the very street at the core of the community - it offers a small variety of dishes and the sight over the city is quite impressive. the community is also known for its large bars. the bar celona is a luxurious one, which presents a wide collection of drinks and light meals - it i s also located in the tavares bastos street.
