at a glance

the exhibition is present through twelve non-chronological 'times' of life in maré - the times of water, of the house, of migration, of resistance, of work, of faith, of the party, of the fair, of the everyday, of the child, of fear and of the future.

the permanent collection is complemented by temporary exhibitions, and the museum building also houses a craft workshop and shop, library, and a performance space.

in realizing its mission to preserve and exhibit the community's culture, the museum is involved in conducting research in oral history, organizing documentation, developing educational programs, fun activities for children, seminars and workshops, and organizing weekly film showings.
