Favela Criativa (Creative Favela) is a program which looks to widen access to cultural resources in Rio, increasing artistic manifestation and effervescence across Brazil.

The program leaders recognize that access to money and resources is not the only way to promote cultural production. To this end, the program provides artistic training in music, theater, dance and digital storytelling in favelas across the city. It also runs courses and workshops in cultural marketing, management and sustainability.

The communities of Rio are a hotbed of creative potential and talent and Favela Creativo looks to ensure that this potential is realized. It promotes the development and success of individuals and initiatives in communities and works to connect them to the wider artistic and cultural landscape of Rio and Brazil.
