moving up the coast from this point is possible to find the praça mareshal âncora, and then the important praça xv, in front of which is the naval museum, the são josé church and the rio de janeiro's legislative assembly ((assembléia legislativa do rio de janeiro), among other important buildings. a little further north is also the access to ilha das cobras (snakes' island)and ilha fiscal (fiscal island). moving away from the coast opens a wider choosing of touristic marvels. president vargas avenue gives access to the candelária church, the santana field, the caxias' duke palace (pantheon), and the brazilian central station of trains (central do brasil), to list the most famous landmarks.
