There are  a number of large, green expanses on the island, which have been preserved and designed to provide residents and visitors with safe outdoor recreational spaces to exercise and socialize.

Parque Poeta Manoel Bandeira, or 'Poet Manoel Bandeira Park' is the biggest recreational area on the island, located in the neighborhood of Cocotá, containing sports courts, soccer fields, a skate park and cycle lane.

One of the greatest attractions on the island is the 'sports corridor' in Moneró which is one of the largest recreational expanses on the island, boasting bike paths, soccer fields, volleyball courts, tennis courts, a skate park, a basketball court, playgrounds and kiosks.
