the cruise in (encontro estadual de veículos antigos) is organized by the nictheroy antique vehicles club, and motofest unites thousands of bikers from all over brazil around food, live music and a variety of theme tents and vendors - admission is free with an encouraged donation of nonperishable food items to be given to local charities.

beginning just after oktoberfest, the german gastronomic workshop, sponsored by the icaraí german culture institute, occurs every weekend for four weeks, detailing preparation and reuse of traditional german foods and matching of wines and beers with dishes - all headed by internationally renowned chef mario pereira - the workshops take place in the institute's cultural space.
