Presented by the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, the study Martinho da Vila - Martinho of Vila examines the lief of the important local figure. Martinho José Ferreira was born in Duas Barras, Rio de Janeiro, on the 12th of February 1938. Son of farmers of the Fazenda do Cedro Grande, he moved to Rio de Janeiro at the age of four. Martinho of Vila is a composer, singer and writer. He was raised in the Serra dos Pretos Forros. His first profession was an Industrial Chemical Assistant, a craft he learnt at an intensive course at SENAI.
