the instituto casa de cultura rio - iccrio, was created to introduce the suzuki method of music teaching to rio. this innovative system was used to teach violin to children and adolescents and the iccrio offers classes of violin, piano, and cello among other things. 

this institute also sponsors social projects aimed at helping lower-income young cariocas with a musical inclination.
