for art and culture enthusiats, the fundação eva klabin is a popular way to spend an afternoon in lagoa. established in 1990, and officially opened to the public in 1995, fundação eva klabin is a unique collection sculptures, paintings, furniture and art objects, from around the world.

with over two thousand items, which range from ancient egypt to impressionism, it is one of the most important collections in brazil, and one of the finest art museums in the city.

the bicycle path, which crosses much of rio de janeiro circles around the lagoon's perimeter. there also several piers for small boats, some of which belong to sport clubs. the lagoon features two islands, piraquê, to the north, home of the naval club sports department, and caiçaras  to the south, which houses the clube dos caiçaras
