opened in 1979, it was the first park with an open-air sculpture garden in brazil, harmonizing natural and man-made beauty along a path ultimately leading to the pico do sacopã, a miranteoffering gorgeous views of the region.

displayed in the park are works by numerous artists, including, sérgio camargo, franz weissman and antónio manuel - it is also known as a great spot for live music, with small concerts springing up throughout the year.

another interesting park is parque das taboas, a space dedicated to sports on the opposite side of the lagoon. the parque dos patins located between clube piraquê and the local heliport, this area is considered an outdoor enthusiast paradise - the main skate park draws the hi-vert international skateboarding  competition each year.
