a short distance away from the coast, just behind praia do diabo and pedra do arpoador, there is an ample green park of great beauty named parque garota de ipanema, this area was named after the famous bossa nova tune 'garota de ipanema' by vinícius de moraes and Antônio Carlos Jobim.

the park is very popular among skaters and from time to time musical events are held in it.
